David Shrigley
David Shrigley lived and worked in Glasgow for 27 years, including studying at the legendary Glasgow School of Art, before heading south to his current home in Brighton.
He is best known for his satirical and observational art, that takes a humorous look at the world and the way we live in it. His primitive style of painting accompanied by irreverent messages has become his trademark and has launched a hugely successful career.
In 2016 his 'Really Good' sculpture of a fist with an elongated thumb, took pride of place on the Fourth plinth in London's Trafalgar Square, bringing his quirky and thought provoking art to an even larger audience.
